Description

Folio (36 x 27.5 cm). pp x 276 pp., including numerous illustrations in text and full-page, 2 plates, SIGNED BY AUTHOR with dedication "To Mrs Roe, in return for everything that has made me so happy here, December 1943,". Publisher's red cloth, blindstamped title and floral ornament on the upper cover, flat spine with gilt lettering; spine faded, light spotting on covers, corners slightly bumped, weak joints; a good copy.


Note

Volume III from the four volume series from the Library of Decorative Arts. Lenygon was famous for his expertise in 17th- and 18th-century British furniture and interiors and well-known as cabinetmaker to England's artisocracy. He served as president of the Art and Antiques Dealers League of America and was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and the North British Academy.
