Note

Fine copy, uncut with large margins, of the first edition of one of the earliest accounts of the Druses, a sect which has a wide following in the Lebanon. "An account of Fakhr-ed-Din, emir of the Druses 1608 to 1635 who rebelled against the Turks in 1608. Mariti had spent some time with the Druses in Lebanon and his history is based on original sources" (Blackmer).
