Note

This expedition, though unsuccessful, is considered to be one of the most important in the history of American mountaineering. It is a dramatic and tense story which nearly resulted in the destruction of the whole party during their descent. Signed by both authors and George Bell, Peter Schoening, Dee Molenaar, Captain Streather (all members of the expedition).
