Note Buckingham accused Bankes of placing an advertisement in the Calcutta Journal in the form of a letter containing false and malicious libel, accusing Buckingham of using Bankes' manuscripts when he prepared his "Travels in Palestine" for publication. The jury found for Buckingham and he was awarded lb400 damges. |
