Description

First edition, 8vo., INSCRIBED by the author on title-page, xv, [4], 155pp., 7 maps (2 folding, 1 in text), original purple blind-stamped cloth, spine slightly faded, short splits to lower joint but firm, a very good copy.

Note

Inscription reads: "R.C. Kersey Esq / from the Author." This work was based on Beke's essay On the Nile and its Tributaries, and various subsequent papers, but much new information was added. He showed how the truth of his earlier contentions respecting the interior of Africa had been established by Captain Burton and other travellers.
