Description

Narrow 8vo (19.5 x 9.5 cm). 40 pp. with 21 woodengravings in text and a large folded colour lithograph map with an inset of the Kremlin. Stapled in original wrappers printed in red and blue, printed map inside upper wrapper, lower wrapper with larger printed map and folding; small stain and inscription in pink ink to upper wrapper.

Fine copy of this lovely and fragile pre-revolutionary pocket guide, richly illustrated and including three maps: a plan of the electric tramways, a large (59 x 45 cm) folding map of Moscow coloured in green and red, and a map of the the surroundings. The guidebook provides practical information on major places of interest as well as further details on theatres and concert halls, including tickets' price range and several nicely engraved seating plans.
