Note A very attractive set in beautiful contemporary art-nouveau binding by Elena Petrovna Samokish-Sudkovskaya (1863-1924), who took an active part in the achievement of the celebrated 'Tsarskaya Okhota [Imperial Hunt]'. The present edition was published just a year before Chekhov's death as a supplement of 1903 Niva, also responsible for the binding fabrication. |
