Robins, London 1827. First edition. 4to. LARGE PAPER COPY (23.5 x 19 cm. approx.), letterpress title, 24 hand-coloured etched plates by and after Cruikshank, plates watermarked "j Whatman 1827." Contemporary cats-paw calf, expertly rebacked, red morocco lettering piece, light offsetting from plates to to blanks, Dudley C. Marjoribanks book label, a very good clean copy.

The work is scarce in any state, but Cohn describes this large paper issue as of "utmost rarity ... only four copies being known." The plates include "dustman," "chimney sweeper," "Hackney Coachman," etc. Marjoribanks, later the first Baron Tweedmouth, was a Liberal Party politician and well-known art collector. Cohn 183.
