Eyre & Spottiswoode, London, 1937. First edition. 8vo. One of 2000 copies printed and one of 1007 in first variant binding (1); 20 plates. Publisher's dark orange cloth, spine lettered in black. Original light cream dust jacket printed in yellow and black, spine darkened and covers quite dust-soiled and slightly stained, extreme edges a bit bruised and rubbed but no tears or chipping, still a very good copy.
The first of Lewis' two primarily autobiographical books, followed by Rude Assignment: A Narrative of My Career Up-to-Date, which is not, however, textually sequential. (Morrow & Lafourcade) Morrow & Lafourcade 26.
