Contemporary binding of patterned brass over wooden boards, upper cover with central oval relief sculpture of Jesus surrounded by four smaller oval relief sculptures of the Evangelists, brass-hinged joints, lower cover with elaborate interlace pattern enclosing central design of an angel and two saints, brass clasps and catches, four supporting feet, text block edges gilt and gauffered, orange silk markers.
