NICE SELECTION OF RUSSIAN CHRONICLES OF THE FIFTEENTH AND SIXTEENTH CENTURY, FINELY BOUND, edited in a limited edition by Prince Augustin Galitzine. He justified the series by saying that it was devoted to the renaissance of Russia and to help understanding of ancient Russia. The word Turganova is introduced into the glossary, defined Tourgenief, "noble famille russe que le talent et l'exil on fait connaitre en France". They were also intended to encourage the Czar to take the country into the Church of Rome instead of the Orthodox Church. These volumes include: - Relation des particularitez de la rebellion de Stenko-Razin contre le Grand Duc de Moscovie, 1856 with introduction by Prince Galitzine; - Discours de l'origine des Russiens et de leur miraculeuse conversation, 1856 translated by Marc Lescarbot. New edition, revised and corrected by Prince Galitzine; - Document relatif au patriarcat moscovite, 1589, 1857 translated into French for the first time by Prince Galitzine; - La deffaicte des Tartares et Turcs faicte par le Seigneur Jean Zamoisky, 1859 New edition with notes to which has been added Discours de Jean Zamoisky tenu a la Diete de Varsovi en MDXC et la reponse de Sigismond III. Translated for the first time into French; - Recit du sanglant et terrible massacre arrive dans la ville de Moscou ainsi que de la fin effrayante et tragique du dernier duc Demetrius, 1606, 1859; - Temoignage d'un contemporain sur Saint Vladimir, 1861, translated into French for the first time by Prince Galitzine.
