Originally published in the U.K. in 2 volumes under the title of "Lhasa." The author was the Times' correspondent with the mission. He gives detailed reports of the march, the sieges of both the British force and the Tibetans at Gyantse, and the protracted negotiations at Lhasa. Yakushi (1994) L57b (incorrect plate collation).
