Originally published in Dutch in 1676. "A very interesting and lively account of his three voyages. The first, from 1647 to 1651 took him as far as Japan. During his second journey from 1655 to 1657 he travelled extensively in the Mediterranean. His third journey, 1668 to 1673, took him to Russia, Persia, and Arabia via the Caspian Sea. The plates illustrate mostly sites in Persia and the East. Three plates refer to the [Greek] Archipelago. The last section is an extract from David Butler's letter from Astrackhan 1669, written on board the Russian ship, the Adelaar." (Blackmer). Cf.
