Small 8vo, illustrated with a folding engraved map, 7 full-page plates and a few other engravings in the text, preliminaries a little browned (including map), a few light isolated spots, otherwise interior very clean, contemporary half black polished calf over marbled boards, spine gilt, extremities and joints a little worn and rubbed, a very good copy.

In spite of his limited knowledge of the language, Fraser travelled extensively in Persia. This work includes a short history from pre-Islamic Persia to the reign of Fath Ali Shah. Ghani p.140.
