Fourth edition. 8vo, coloured frontispiece, numerous black and white photographic illustrations, folding map at rear pocket, newspaper cuttings pasted down at rear, presentation and library book-plate pasted down on front endpaper, some spotting on endpapers, original green cloth decorated, spine gilt decorated; otherwise a fine copy.

This title (first published in the same year) firmly established Younghusband as a well known Central Asian explorer. Starting in Manchuria, he continued to the Gobi Desert, to Kashmir and Kashgar, finally exploring the Pamir Plateau. Neate Y29, Yakushi Y9.
