First edition. 8vo., (23 x 15 cms), xvi, 351pp., frontispiece and 4 plates, 3 of which after Whymper, 15 illustrated figures, some pages uncut, errata slip tipped inside, occasional light foxing, embossed library stamp, bookplate to front pastedown, original green cloth gilt, blindstamped borders, gilt pictorial vignette to upper cover and spine, corners slightly bumped and spine frayed a little; overall a good copy.
