Describes Huron, Iroquois and Algonquin customs, purportedly based on observations made firsthand by the author on a trip to America in 1729. It is now believed by many to be a lively but fictitious narrative drawn from contemporary and historical accounts. "How much of truth, and how much of fiction, are blended in the narratives of the class to which this of Sieur Le Beau belongs, is not often easy to decide.
