Stockmans & Moerincx, Anvers 1875. 8vo, 268pp, 8 mounted original photographs (approx size: 3.5 x 2.5 inches), tissue guards, slightly spotted, author's letter in manuscript, tipped in before title-page, author's inscription in ink on reverse of half-title dated "15 Janvier 1886", inner hinges loose, pages browned and some spotting throughout, some photographs slightly faded, contemporary red cloth, label, gilt lettered and decorated on spine; a good copy.
This rare volume covers the author's journey through Port Said, Ceylon and the Philippines. The original photographs are portraits of local inhabitants. Very scarce.
