( "The Reconnaisance"and "The Fight" both English editions, "The Assault" first American edition). 3 vols, large 8vo, (26 x 18 cms), x, 356, viii, 339, x, 372pp, previous owner's signature inside "The Reconnaisance", a couple of maps frayed at edges in same vol, numerous illustrations, some coloured, 7 folding maps, original blue, red and green cloth, gilt lettered, spine faded and slight spotting to upper cover of "The Assault...", some spotting to the fore-edge of the same tiitle, spine sun faded; overall a fairly good solid set.

This impressive collection narrates the story of the various British expeditions to reach the summit of Mount Everest. The first expedition in 1921 was led by Lieutenant-Colonel C.K. Howard-Bury.
