The author entered Lhasa in 1920 as the first European diplomat. The book gives a history of Tibet from the fifteenth century and its land and peoples. Norman Dyhrenfurth was a swiss born mountaineer, who led the first American expedition to climb Everest in 1963. Yakushi B110a.
