First edition. 17 volumes, 4to, 187 engraved plates, slight spotting, one plate in vol.viii misbound, two plates on one sheet in vol.xiv, overall a very good set in contemporary russia gilt, sometime rebacked to style, some corners restored, library stamp to half titles on verso of frontispieces and on title and with cancel stamp on verso, these not particularly obtrusive, a nice set in good order.
A valuable collection which includes accounts of Pigafata, Tasman, Dampier, Cook, La Condamine, etc. Hill 1362.
