Photography in India. A rare witness to the spread in popularity of photography in India in the late nineteenth-century, with no other copies traced. The striking front cover, together with a further illustration on p. 73, of female figures operating camera equipment strongly suggest that the pursuit of photography was primarily considered a female pastime at the time of publication.

The fihrist at the front of the volume indicates that this volume is formed of extracts from 13 different publications on photography, presumably present here in translation by the listed 'author' Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim. The publications are listed as follows:
1. Practical Guide to Photography, Marion and Co. London, 1887
2. H. C. Bothalmy, The Ilford Manual of Photography, The Britania Work Co. London, 1805
3. George Dawson, A Manual of Photography, J. & A. Churchill, 1873
4. William Highway, A Practical Portrait of Photography, Piper and Corter London, 1889
5. C. C. Vevers, Practical Amateur's Photography, C. C. Vevers Leeds, 1891
6. W. K. Burton, A. B. C. Modern Photography, Piper and Corter London, 1894
7. Fellow of the Chemical Society, Beginners guide to Photography, Perken son Rayment London
8. J. H. F. Ellerbeck, Amateurs First Hand book in photography, The Country Press London, 1890
9. George Ewing, A Hand Book of Photography for Amateurs in India, Thaker Spink and Co. Calcutta, 1895
10. Watter E. Woodbary, Gelatino Chlorideof Silver printing out Paper Process, Hazel, Watson and Viney LD. London, 1891
11. C. C. Vevers, Viver's Photographie Primer, Enlarging on Bromide paper, C. C. Vever Leeds
12. W. Ingles Rogers, One Hundered Forumlas, Hazel, Watson and Viney LD. London
13. Babaji Sakhaaram & co, To Our Sitter, Bombay
